Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered many other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for tips.
A senior representative commented the incident made him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
